Aeration
Verti-draining is a process which disturbs the soil in a controlled manner. This relieves compaction and allows air, water and nutrients to penetrate into the soil. Compaction is a particular problem due to excessive amounts of foot traffic usually in concentrated areas.
This stops the root systems getting the oxygen they need and compacted soil becomes a physical barrier to root penetration.
Deep tine aeration gives immediate improvements in soil aeration and drainage, allowing water to drain through heavily compacted soil.
Using 25mm tines at a depth of up to 250mm, the Verti drain system fractures compaction zones and causes a heave action in the soil raising and aerating the turf. Hollow core tines can also be used.
